Mother's Day card

Forgot to add this card last week, so thought I'd show you it now - sorry the pics are a bit dull, my photography skills need a lot of improvement!!

I went for lots of embossing on this card and it was all made so easy with our new embossing folders and embosslit dies from the mini catalogue.  I have used the manhattan rose folder and embossed both sides of my base card, it just gives such a subtle embossed effect to then add my layers onto  - I have then used the new top note die cutter which was then embossed with the square lattice folder, the little dinky butterlies are cut and embossed with the Beautiful Wings embosslit die -this die is fast becoming a best seller- it cuts and embosses no less than 5 differnt sizes and patterns of butterfly in the one go, there is one butterfly smaller and two larger butterflies than the ones I have used  on my card on the same embosslit - great value!

My big flower was created by cutting a few flowers with the fun flowers sizzix die that we now sell and I just felt that I wanted to add more detail, so the flowers were also embossed with the manhattan flower embossing folder, I then rubbed my ink pad over them to pick up colour on the embossed detail.I added a little button from our brights collection of buttons and the setiment was from our occasional greetings set and cut with the decoartive label punch, and a little bow of taffeta ribbon to finish.

Hope you like all my embossing - Mum certainly did!

A manhattan rose bookmark

In this day and age where we have loads of electronic gadgets and new ways to read books and newsapapers etc, but for me there is nothing nice and more calming than sitting down and curling up on the sofa with a good book to read - a real book -one where i can turn the pages!  So if like me you like to read 'real' books, it is always handy to have a nice bookmark to keep your spot, when the dreaded Housew..k or the kids need to be attended to!

I have used tempting turquoise, whisper whie and soft suede as my colour combo on this one, and as I have used the stunning manhattan flower embossing folder on it (isn't it just amazing!) I didn't feel it need a great deal else - my sentiment is the same one as yesterday and cut again with the decoraive label, - this punch is great as it fits loads of our sentiments from lots of the sets in both our current catalogues -the finishing touch was to add a few gems for some sparkle

Love Bikes?

Well if you love motorbikes or the man in your life does then you are sorted!  This is a cracking motorcycle stamp that is now available in the mini catalogue, and priced at only £7.95 it is fabulous value for money.  Not all our men are into football and golf etc, so this stamp makes a nice change.

I have kept my card very simple - gone withe 2 colours and used whisper white and soft suede, the bike has been coloured using our watercolour brush and the ink from the inkpad, the edges have been sponged a little to give a distressed look - the texture on the card has been added with another new product from the mini catalogue - the square lattice embossing folder - i do find myself using this one a lot - think it could be a new favourite!!!!

The sentiment is  from the cottage garden set and is stamped with the same soft suede ink and has been cut out with one of the new punches, the decorative label.I  then embossed it too and inked its edge, a little bit of twill ribbon and job done!

Bundle of Love

Well, what did you think of our team blog hop yesterday? I do hope you enjoyed it and managed to get the chance to have a good look around all the blogs - we have some very talented girls on our team of Jems and it is so lovely to see all the fantastic new creations with new products from the mini.

My card for today is a very similar layout to one that Charlotte Harding from our European office showed at the regional training recently - I only used 2 colors of pink and changed the stamp set , I used Bundle of Love and added a sentiment from the same set, some of our lovely Whisper white satin ribbon and a couple of our super sparkly gems to finish it off, and isn't our new perfect polka dosts embossing folder just so versatile - a must have - as you can use it on cards and projects for all occasions - if you would like to add one to your crafty stash contact me at evsline@hotmail.com and i will be happy to order it for you.

Julies Jems Mini Catalogue Blog hop

Are you all set and ready to rumble! Here we go again on a fabulous rollercoaster of fantastic swops created from the amazing new Stampin' Up! Mini Catalogue.

I am a member of the fantastic Julies Jems team of demonstrators, led by the lovely Julie Kettlewell and as a team we decided to do a swop to share ideas on the new products available.  My SU sister, Sarah-Jane organised the swop and did a great job at collating them all and sending them back out to us - thanks so much SJ!
As they were all so delicious it seemed only fair to share them with the rest of you - so please join us on our hop and tell us what you think.

If you started at the begining you will have began with Sarah Jane's lovely offering and if you are doing the loop you will have arrived at me from Laura's blog - love what she chose for her swop - it showcases the papers beautifully!

Here are my cards, same format, same colours just swopped them around a bit:-

I chose the button, button stamp and the fun flowers sizzix die - my colours were bashful blue and pretty in pink, the sentiment is from the hello you stamp set and punched with the modern label punch, finished it off with a basic gem and and bow of pretty in pink narrow taffetta ribbon.

After having a peek at my card for the swop you need to head on over to Angela's  blog and have a look at her lovely project, she has used some fantastic colours.

Heart of hearts

A perk of being a Stampin' Up! demo is that we get to take part in regional training events, these events give us the chance to meet up with lots of other demos to swop and share ideas with........and sometimes the organisers arrange little lucky surprises for us - yay! At the last training day we were all instructed to pick a numbered butterfly, well what happened next ......well throughout the day they decided to offer little prizes to randomly picked numbers....guess what....... I was one of the lucky ones, and was gifted the new Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit die!! woohoo, I'm not normally lucky and was over the moon to have my number picked, and my gift was one of the items that I hadn't yet ordered from the mini catalogue.

The embosslit dies not only emboss but they cut out the shape too - the heart has a lovely scalloped edge and really defined dotty embossing - I chose one of my favourite colours melon mambo and made a really quick card - made my base card from melon mambo too and the fabby new top note die was used to cut a very vanilla mat to add my hearts onto - added some detail wuith some linen thread - quite a simple card - but effective!

I am so loving getting to use some more new products from our delicious new mini catalogue - here i have used the new owl punch, the square lattice embossing folder and the lush new seam binding ribbon.  I have used the pear pizzaz seam binding ribbon which ruches so easily and gives loads of dimension to any card, and who can resist this cute little owl - twit ta woo - not me!

Why not come and join in the fun and help support some fellow demos on their inspirational blog

fly away

More new goodies have been used on this card - I just can't stop playing with them.
The square lattice embossing folder ceated the background for this card and the Beutiful butterflies die cutter cut out the butterflies, the colours used are whisper white and bashful blue, I have used the sentiment from the butterfly prints set and cut it out with the decorative lable punch, the butterflies have been embellished with basic gems xx

Thank You Sarah-Jane

This is a similar card to one I posted ealier this week, I used springtime vintage DSP and used similar cardstock colours to the card in my previuos post.  Changed the colour of my scrunched flower to very vanilla and used the Thank You from the Curly Cute stamp set and up pops the top note die again!

The lovely Sarah Jane who is another of Julies Jems, organised a mini catalogue swop for the rest of us, so this was my card that I sent to her along with my swops - hope she liked it!  I certainly appreciated her hard work in getting the swops all out to us - my display board is looking fab - thanks again SJ xx

Sail Away

This was my swop for the ILWS mini catalogue swop round 1,which the lovely Emma H organised - thank you for all your hard work sorting everything out. Thirty SU demos took part in this one, we split into groups of 10 and Emma was inundated with envelopes of loveliness which she had to then sort out ans send back to everyone.  We were to all choose a product from the new mini catalogue and make our swops with it.........my choice was Sail Away, this is one of our a la carte stamps , whic you can purchase singularly, and great value at only £8.95 and oh so perfect for male cards - especially those who don't like football!

I used a 4" x 4" square of whisper white cardstock and stamped in bashful blue with one of our large background stamps called sanded, this is a great stamp for subtle backgrounds and works for all occasions.  I cut a smaller square of whisper white cardstock and edged it with the scallop trim border punch, I stamped my image with soft suede ink which I also used to distress the edges of the smaller matt and used the same ink again to stamp Hello, which is a sentiment from the Basic phrases set.   Button button is a new stamp set in the mini  catalogue and I can think of so many uses for it, and on this card I punched out four 3/4" circles from whisper white and glued them together and then stamped one of the button stamps in bashful blue and punched  it out and added it on top of the white cirlles, i treaded some of our linen thread through it to add dimension. I do hope all the girls liked my swop, the ones I received in return were amazing! thanks everyone.

PLEASE POP BACK SOON- and don't miss looking in on Saturday 9th April, I am a member of Julie Jems team of demonstrators and we have arranged a blog hop for Saturday at 9am - some more amazing crations from the mini catalogue for you to look at! see you then!!

Elegant Build a blossom

What a superb set the Build a Blossom is, you can put it together so many ways to achieve so many different looks, this is using the skinny blossom petal which i have stamped in Elegan Eggplant ink, this no cutting gift bag came together so quickly. The fact that we have a blossom punch to match the stamp set makes it so quick to complete projects like these, stamp and punch - job done.  I have punched a small circle for the middle of my flower and added a sparkly gem from our basic gems  - nothing basic about these beauties, they really sparkle like no others!  I have added a little decoration to the top and bottom of the gift bag by using the stamp that is meant to be the flower centre, stamped in matching elegant eggplant...........is your wish list growing.......I know mine is!

Flutterby, Butterfly

Well, continuing the mini launch theme, here is a card made with some more of the lovely new products now available.  In October, Stampin' Up! revamped there colour palette and brought the colour families bang up to date and on trend with their new colours.  One of my favourites since the revamp has been this delicious pink, its called Melon Mambo and I have to confess to being a fan!

I have used Melon mambo cardstock to make my card base into a C6 card, I have cut a piece of whisper white and run it through one of the new embossing folders - this one ie elegant bouquet, another which will be so versatile and cover lots of occasions. I have used my water brush and used melon mambo ink and coloured the centres of the flowers, the butterflies are cut using our butterfly punch and i have embossed them with the same embossing folder and added some of our super sparkly basic gems.

The sentiment  mat is from the new decorative label stamp set and inked up with matching melon mambo ink  and the little thank you is from  our Bundle of Love stamp set, it is then cut with the matching decorative label punch......till tomorrow xx

Here are a few projects I have made using some of the new goodies :-

Build a blossom stamp set, springtime vintage buttons, occasional greeting sentiment, melon mambo ink, basic gems, matt pack and night of Navy cardstock

Flower burst embosslits, square lattice embossing folder, basic pearls, whisper white taffetta ribbon, old olive, perfect plum and bashful blue cardstock

very vanilla, pumpkin pie and old olive card stock, eyelet border punch, crimper, basic pearl, tea stain ink from distressing kit, old olive ribbon and the very versatile perfect polka dots embossing folder
Pillow Box die, the first one is cut in Melon mambo cardstock, sentiment from Basic Phrases, certainly celery ribbon and the topper is made with certainly celery, basic black and melon mambo cardstock, basic gem and heart punched from the 3 heart punch( for any demo who went to convention last year, and went to Monica and Natalies pre convention party, you might recognise the little topper, I saved it from the triangle box that Nat and Monica gave us!!)  Recycle, recylcle recycle!

The second  pillow box cardstock is cut in Pumkin pie and stamped over in matching punkin pie ink with the itty bitty stamp set(as a demo we get little perks and this set was given to us free at this years regional training! woo hoo! -  contact me if you are interested in becoming a demo) Butterflies are cut and embossed from our brand new beautidul wings embosslits, cuts and embosses at the same time - simply fab to use and tied with daffodil delight satin ribbon.

These lovely felt flowers are made with our new fun flowers sizzix bigz l die cutter, the die can cut through felt, chipboard, cork, to name but a few mediums, not just paper and card, so i decided to make some brooches to show it off, I have used felt from my stash and the buttons are the springtime vintage set and the bold brights buttons which I used for the first  two brooches.  The third brooch I made to go on my Stampin' Up! apron and as the postie brought me my new bronze level 3 pin yesterday, I decided to use it as the centre for this brooch - will be able to use it as a recruiting statement tool!!!

This is my last set of projects for todays hop - The springtime vintage papers are just beautiful and as they are double sided, you can always find something to suit your taste. I have used very vanilla and old olive card stock for all 3 items, the seam binding ribbon is just pure lush! it ties beautifully, ruches easily and can be frayed simply.......and it comes in 3 other colours too!  the square box is made by attaching 4 of our new envelope dies together, how simple, but so effective, the mini milk carton is cut from another of our new sizzix dies, aptly named the mini milk carton!  I have used our scallop circle punch to create the flower on the card, and the crimper to make the leaves, the sentiment is from the thanks for everything stamp set and punched with the decorative label punch - another new product!

I hope you have enjoyed my projects and that they give you a taste of what additional products I can offer you, next on this fabulous blog hop is Donna who has some more delicious projects to show you.
