Growing Green

We all need thank you cards and it is nice to have a little stash of them handy, so set about adding some to my box to have on hand, White base card matted with Rich razzleberry DSP from the Brights stack, used the delicious matching Rich razzleberry ribbon - this ribbon is amazing it ties so wonderfully well, think i will need to invest in some other colours!

I have stamped the flower in matching SU Rich Razzleberry ink and used my water brush to pull some colour into the petals and then torn the edges to distress it a little, the sentiment is from the very versatile For Everything set.  This would be a quick and simple card to make in batches and would look equally as good in a whole range of colours.

see you soon

Well I never!

Just had to tell you this story - About 10 days ago the postie dropped a Royal Mail Card through my door  saying that i had a charge of £1.32 to pay for a letter they were holding at the sorting office..........this seems to happen fairly often now, since they changed the letter sizes etc!!!!

Well off I went to the post office to collect my letter, drove into town, paid for parking and went to the sorting office, only to be handed a dl envelope with a big yellow sticker- no postage paid - no stamp and no frank mark.  When i opened the letter is was a bleeding bog standard mail shot from a large nationwide company!   aaaaaaaaggggghhhhhh!!! how annoying!! It had cost me time and money .......for nothing!

At Dinner that evening I was telling my hubby and that i thought i would complain to the company concerned - his reply was - 'don't excpect them to do anything about it, they probably won't even get back to you'

I called the company in the morning to explain what happened and request my refund - told them i was happy for them to send me some first class stamps to cover it, they said that i wasn't the first to complain and they weren't  sure how it happened, but they would be in touch.

WELL..........what dropped through my letter box yesteday morning, a lovley letter of apology for causing
me all the inconvenience AND a gift card  for £10 from Marks an Spencer!   To say i was gobsmacked was an understatement.........and the delight i took in showing my hubby when he came in from work was, shall we say pleasing!  Now thats what i call a result.

I don't often complain, but it was  certainly worth it this time!  I dread to think how much it may have cost them if  there were a few complaints!

Is it a little late OR mega early?

This is a pop up Christmas tree that i made with the ladies at my class before Christmas, i decided to be a little different and go for a totally different colour theme from the traditional red and green.  I just love the SU melon mambo colour and decided to be daring and use it for the top of my tree.  I have kept mine fairly simple here, but it is one of those projects that you could really go to town on.

i have added organaz ribbon through the top pieces to make it easier to lift away from the base, i  have added gems to decorate and the SU ex large flower punch to create my flower in the centre.  All the ladies made some lovely trees and they were all very different, i just wish i had taken a picture to show you all.  I could have cheated and told you that i was just SO super organised and made this for next Christmas.........but well......anyone who knows me would know that i would NEVER be THAT organised!

Just Believe

This stamp set - Just Believe - is fantastic and is so vesatile for lots of occasions - i just love it.   One of the many benefits of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is that when you attend any of the SU Training days or convention you normally are lucky enough to be given some freebies - all those who attended this years convention got  two lovely sets free and this was one of them - what a delight!

The main image is from Just Believe and the sentiment is from Perfect Punches, colours used are Rich Razzleberry and old olive

Penny Black Saturday challenge week 134

Been ages since i did any challenges, but as Penny Blacks are one of my all time favourite stamps, i thought i would ease myself into some challenges again by starting with the Penny Black Saturday challenge wk 134  this week it was a buffet choice -never done one of them before, quite ingenious!  You had to pick 4 items from their buffet cart and make a card with your items.

The four items i went for were -  patterened papers, 3 flowers, 3 gems and ribbon.

My papers were all Stampin' Up! and the flowers were handmade with an SU punch and scrunchedwith little flower brads in the centres, image coloured with copics and edges dusted with chalks, corners punche with the new SU scallop edge corner punch, ribbon and 3 gems from my stash and SU sentiment.  Hope it fits the bill xx

Growing Green

Hi everyone

I have had a couple of stamp sets that hadn't seen any ink and decided that the time had come to introduce them to each other!  Both sets are currently available from the SU catalogue and can be ordered through me if you would like them.  The sets, are called Growing Green and buterfly prints and i am sure the detectives amongst you will be able to decide which is which!

I have used the gorgeous  SU Rich razzleberry design series paper from the Brights DSPstack and have used the matching Rich razleberry ink - my favourite thing about Stampin' Up! is that they have everything that co-ordinates,card, papers, ribbons, ink, buttons, pens - it just makes it all soooooo much easier!

i have randomly stamepd around the edge of some whisper white card - and used my waterbrush to pull the colour into the flower design, i have then stamped  2 butterflies on another piece of card,  which have been punched out with the matching punch and have had some pearls added.  The sentiment is from the butterfly prints set and is just perfect.

i have added this card to enfys week long party challenge for day 1 - your card was to have a bug/butterfly etc - hope she likes it x

For the mini cards I have used a selection of Stampin'Up! thank you stamp sentiments, the scalloped square punch, boho blossom punch and faithful scalloped circleall had an outing too!

Made it a box of mini thank you cards, as at this time of year we normally have lots of peole to say thank you to.   One of my  big thanks goes to Samantha-Marie  who kindly shared her tutorial for this little bag -

ILWS January DT Challenge

This card was my entry for one of this months challenges over on ILWS.
This was this months colour challenge, where we were challenged to use  Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie.

My base card is chocolate chip, but looks darker in photo somehow?!? I used papers from the fabulous new Brights paper stack (40 double sided patterend paper for only £15.50) happy to order these for anyone in need of a paper fix!   I have used a lovely flower and sentiment stamp from one of the Sale-a-bration sets called Punch Bunch - i love this stamp and will use it loads, it is quickly becoming a favourite.  And the bonus is that as the set name, PUNCH BUNCH may give  it away - it matches 2 of our most popular punches, the scallop circle and the matching 1 3/8 plain circle punch.  I have coloured directly onto my stamp with my markers in melon mambo and pumkin pie and added some lilttle flowers using the boho blossom punch with some plain brads.

Now i just need to have a go at the other challenges,  a sketch, a technique using wax and a scrapook layout - best get my thinking cap on!

Sweet Summer

At last, a camera cable!  I can get back to uploading some of the things i have made recently.

As you may have seen from the post at the stop of my blog Stampin' Up! currently have this years Sale- a Bration  Offer on for the months of January and February.  This  card was made with one of the four stamp sets that you can earn free when spending £45 from the catalogue.

I was lucky enough to be given one of these fabulous sets free when attending The Stampin'Up! convention last November - what a very welcome surprise that was!!I just love FREE stamps - don't you? This year convention is heading to Disneyland Paris, so if you would like to be there and get lots freebies too, contact me and let me tell you how you can be there too.

This card was made using Whisper white card stock for the base card and also for the flower and stamped image. I created some backgound card by stamping a couple of the stamps from the sweet summer set in  tangerine tango and daffodil delight ink to create a background for the base of the card , the image was stamped using the 2 step stamping technique and the flower was watercoloured ,  I sprayed my punched flowers with water and scrunched them up, inked the edges and added the centre, which was stamped using another stamp from another one of the sale a bration sets called punch bunch.  Finished off with the delightful pear pizzaz ribbon - hope you like it x

Back Soon with some piccies...........honest!

I have been a bit of a naughty blogger and not  been keeping my blog as upto date lately as i would like - have made a concious decision to try and do much better at keeping my blog up to date!!  The biggest problem is that my lot keep using my camera cable and my phone cable and not putting it back where it should be...aaaaaggghhhh so when i have something to upload  I can never find my cables - think the solution might be to invest in a spare set and hide them!!!! Have lots to show you!

Anyway i have a few blogs that i love to pop around and low and behold the delight  when i was hopping tonight -check  out the blogs below for some amazing candy they are all offering - not to be missed -
